On 27 April 2023, WeCarbon and the Changqing Club of the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) Shanghai Alumni Association co-hosted a closed-door seminar on artificial intelligence. WeCarbon's China Partner Mia Zheng and Founder and Executive President Eric Ma attended.

At the seminar, WeCarbon's founders explained the important role artificial intelligence can play in organisational governance and in sustainability. In organisational governance, WeCarbon's latest technology combines large models with AI's capacity for digital content creation, using AIGC (AI-generated content) to build a new kind of AI think tank for policy research and organisational governance that helps companies across sectors close the loop on business value. In sustainability, AI is becoming an important route for China to achieve its sustainability goals. Built around data trust, WeCarbon's WeCarbon Cloud carbon neutrality management platform uses big data, AI and other technologies to monitor carbon data dynamically, providing one-stop services for carbon data, carbon verification, carbon trading, carbon finance, climate risk and ESG management and giving strong support to the digital low-carbon transformation of every industry.

The CKGSB Shanghai Alumni Association delegation said that the "explosive" growth of the AI sector has brought new opportunities for corporate digital transformation and is playing a major role in improving efficiency, cutting costs and optimising resource allocation. AI also has great potential for technology-driven decarbonisation and green transformation across industries.

The two sides held a wide-ranging, in-depth discussion of the goals, evolution, key directions and application scenarios of AI, and agreed on the contribution AI can make to cutting carbon emissions in key industries. Going forward, they will continue their exchanges to promote the integration of AI with the sustainability goals, unlock the social, economic and ecological value of AI and sustainability, strengthen the innovative application of green and low-carbon technologies, bring integrated AI applications to industries in the context of sustainability, and drive a green, low-carbon future.
