Since 2017, the "36Under36" list has featured 432 founders and 108 investors, all selected by 36Kr as people who may go on to shape China's business world. Past lists include many well-known business names, such as ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming, Anker Innovations founder Steven Yang, and Xiaohongshu founders Miranda Qu and Charlwin Mao, which bears out how forward-looking the list is.

In 2023, after initial screening and a second review of more than 500 founders and over 200 investors who applied, a new 36Under36 cohort was selected: 120 founders and 36 investors in total.

For founders, to make the process more credible, 36Kr invited partners responsible for the technology, consumer and healthcare sectors at 33 investment firms to score candidates on personal track record, business model and technological innovation, and the 36Kr Research Institute then tallied the scores to produce the final list. Ms. Shi won the judges' recognition as an entrepreneur in ESG and impact investing.Figure 2: Ms. Remoca Shi on 36Kr's "36Under36 Founders" list
