Launched by New Energy Nexus, the Climate Fintech Accelerator 2023 invites the builders, connectors and beneficiaries of the climate fintech ecosystem to build that ecosystem together, and offers participating companies support with technology optimisation, industry matchmaking and market expansion. The accelerator focuses on two key themes: Web + sustainability, and carbon accounts. It is an accelerator in China dedicated to climate finance, aimed at fintech companies and at helping innovative fintech companies scale up. The programme opened in June. Its initial cohort comes from China, the United States, Singapore, the United Kingdom, India, Nigeria and other countries, and includes 11 companies with technology and product strengths in climate fintech, such as Tanbii, BlockCarbon, Climatize and Zero Circle Inc. The Climate Fintech Accelerator 2023 drew applications from fintech companies around the world, and the cohort was selected over several months. WeCarbon's selection recognises its expertise and forward-looking work in climate fintech.

Amid the wave of climate change and sustainability, WeCarbon's in-house "WeCarbon Cloud" carbon neutrality management platform uses advanced technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence. It addresses clients' two main pain points in sustainability and ESG, "disclosure compliance" and "value creation", by tackling the core issue of "carbon data trust". It aims to become the central brain for sustainability and ESG work in key industries, providing end-to-end management across five use cases: disclosure compliance and green certification, green finance, carbon and energy management, carbon assets and trading, and ESG management.

Climate fintech is playing an increasingly important role in the accelerating transition to a low-carbon economy. Going forward, WeCarbon will draw on its "WeCarbon Cloud" carbon neutrality management platform, its supporting AI products and its professional advisory services to keep bringing innovative climate fintech solutions into use in carbon assets and trading, green finance, ESG and climate risk management, helping financial institutions, governments and companies manage climate change risks, advancing the green and low-carbon transition and building a green future together.
