On 27 September 2023, WeCarbon Zhigu (hereinafter "WeCarbon") and Hanyin Xinneng Lvtan Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Beijing Shaanxi Coal New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Shaanxi Coal New Energy Hanyin Company"), held a signing ceremony for a forestry carbon sink technology innovation research demonstration project.
The ceremony was attended by Cheng Hailin, Deputy Party Secretary of Hanyin County; Tian Wenguang, Deputy County Magistrate of Hanyin County; Li Chao, Director of the Hanyin County Forestry Bureau; WeCarbon Founders Eric Ma and Remoca Shi; and Ding Tian, General Manager of Shaanxi Coal New Energy Hanyin Company.

Cheng Hailin, Party Secretary of Hanyin County, said he had high hopes for the cooperation. The signing of the demonstration project, he said, marks a new stage in forestry carbon sink development in Hanyin County; it will support cooperation between government and business, and also advance ecological development in Hanyin and turn its ecological value into economic value. Hanyin County will continue to build an excellent business environment and provide strong support for the mutually beneficial development of both partners.
At the ceremony, WeCarbon Founder Eric Ma and Ding Tian, General Manager of Shaanxi Coal New Energy Hanyin Company, signed the Forestry Carbon Sink Technology Innovation Research Demonstration Project agreement on behalf of the two parties.

The forestry carbon sink demonstration project follows the principle that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets". Giving priority to ecology, it will explore technological innovation and development in forestry carbon sinks and build replicable experience to support rural revitalisation. Through this cooperation, the two parties will advance local forestry carbon sink technology. Through a forestry carbon sink measurement and monitoring platform, forestry carbon sink project development, methodology innovation, integrated space-air-ground monitoring and other advanced technologies, they will make full use of Hanyin County's forest resources, support rural revitalisation and promote high-quality development of the county economy.
