WeCarbon recently entered into a strategic partnership with Shanghai EasiPass (“EasiPass”).
EasiPass is a state-owned joint-stock company that builds and operates unified information platforms, mainly for port, shipping and border-crossing logistics. Since its founding it has built the Shanghai E-Port, the Shanghai International Trade Single Window and other information management service platforms that handle large volumes of business. Driven by innovation, the company has built two service systems, “market-based services + public services”, creating an integrated data ecosystem for shipping and trade. Its market-based services cover four links, trade, regulation, logistics and finance. Drawing on its technology and data strengths, and guided by its service principles of “sincerity, initiative, professionalism and efficiency”, it provides users with fast, smart, end-to-end port information services and digital applications.
As a signatory service provider to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI), one of the early preparatory organisations of Shanghai Climate Week, and a company on a national ministry's carbon neutrality services whitelist, WeCarbon combines professional, forward-looking and practical services with its hands-on ESG experience in China and overseas to support investors and companies with their ESG needs, unlock ESG value and create mutual benefit.
Building on EasiPass's “Tanshubao” data service brand, the two parties reached agreement on cooperation in advisory, training and technology applications in cross-border green compliance, with a focus on the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Under the strategic partnership, they will work through the APMEN Carbon Neutrality Innovation Community (APCIC) to run a series of carbon management certification and verification projects around companies' CBAM reporting needs, and will hold regular seminars and training courses to answer companies' questions, helping them calculate their carbon emissions accurately and produce CBAM carbon footprint reports more easily. Going forward, on the basis of mutual benefit, the two parties will draw fully on their expertise and combine their resources to deliver sustainability and ESG projects across sectors, helping build a green, low-carbon and sustainable industrial ecosystem and supporting China's sustainability goals.
