On 21 May 2026, WeCarbon's China Partner Ms. Mia Zheng gave an English-language lecture, "Business Ethics: A Global Perspective", to undergraduates at Fudan University's Fanhai International School of Finance (FISF), walking through the core frameworks of global business ethics and weaving ESG and sustainability concepts and case studies into the course.

Taking a global view of what business ethics means, Ms. Zheng began with classic ethical dilemmas and used real-life scenarios, such as a coffee shop's funding decision and a social media data dilemma, to get students thinking about moral and value boundaries in business. To close the lecture, she presented ESG as the core framework of modern business ethics. Drawing on benchmark cases such as Patagonia's environmental practices and Tesla's shift to sustainable energy, she explained how ESG moves from concept to a core principle of corporate sustainability, shifting business decisions from a "profit-only" focus to a paradigm that balances "people, planet and profit", and helped students see clearly how business ethics and ESG practice connect.
As business ethics becomes part of undergraduate education, ESG and sustainability content will increasingly enter everyday university teaching, keeping higher education in step with global sustainability trends. Going forward, WeCarbon will continue to work with universities on ESG research and talent development, bringing ESG thinking into higher education and business practice, helping more young people build a global understanding of sustainable development, and supplying well-qualified professionals to the sustainability field.
