WeCarbon Founder Ms. Remoca Shi has recently joined the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Shanghai I Hub as a new member, working with Global Shapers around the world to drive innovative practice in sustainability and climate action and to address global issues together.

The Global Shapers Community is a global youth organization under the World Economic Forum, founded by Professor Klaus Schwab in 2011. It brings together outstanding young people from all walks of life and aims to mobilize individuals, communities and the wider world, giving young people a global platform for shaping the future.

Established in 2012, the Global Shapers Shanghai I Hub was among the initial hubs set up in China. Its members are outstanding young people from a wide range of fields. Guided by the belief that young people should be "an active force for change, not passive bystanders," the hub uses its platform to help members grow better and faster, while running social projects that increase the social contribution and influence of the hub and its members.

Ms. Shi holds a master's degree from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). She is currently Founder and Executive Director of WeCarbon, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Climate Week Executive Committee Secretariat and Secretary-General of its Youth Council, Secretary-General of the Sustainable Development Committee of the Asia-Pacific Entrepreneurs Association (APEA), an expert of the Sci-Tech Enterprise IPO Incubation Pool, and a member of the Carbon Neutrality Committee of the China Energy Conservation Association. Her work focuses on carbon neutrality, ESG and sustainability. Professionally, she serves carbon neutrality and ESG transformation projects, research and standard-setting for central and state-owned enterprises, listed companies, governments and key industry associations. In public life, she has hosted a number of influential forums in China and abroad, led international climate-related events, and founded youth councils on climate change and biodiversity protection that bring together outstanding young people from the Middle East, Egypt, the United States, Norway, Australia and China, mobilizing global youth to advance sustainable development.

Under Ms. Shi's leadership, WeCarbon will continue to work with the Global Shapers Community to advance climate technology innovation and the green economy, contribute to the low-carbon transition and the Sustainable Development Goals, and build a greener, more prosperous future together.
