On 21 June 2025, the "Technology for Sustainability" roundtable, one of the core events of Social Impact Week 2025, was held in Chaoyang District, Beijing. Co-hosted by the Global Shapers Beijing II Hub and the Shanghai Climate Week Youth Council, the event followed this year's theme "Smart City, Kind City: Where Humanity Meets Technology" and explored how technology can drive sustainable development and social innovation. Mr. Eric Ma, Founder of WeCarbon, was invited to moderate the discussion.
Social Impact Week is the annual flagship event of the Beijing II Hub, bringing international and local communities together to work on global challenges. The roundtable, a key part of the International Gala, invited Global Shapers, young leaders and industry experts from China and abroad to share their practice and insights in social innovation. As moderator, Mr. Eric Ma led an in-depth discussion with two other speakers on technological innovation for decarbonising the power and steel industries, decarbonisation strategies and aligned targets for waterborne transport, and green technology and the transformation of global supply chains. In his remarks, Mr. Ma highlighted the report "ClimateTech In Focus: Innovations for a Greener Supply Chain", for which WeCarbon served as Knowledge Partner, and the insights it offers. He also shared the impact and value that WeCarbon's Formist AI form agent for global trade and its shipping and logistics solutions have delivered in practice.
