On 30 September 2025, WeCarbon founders Mr. Eric Ma and Ms. Remoca Shi attended The Africa Debate – UAE 2025 investment summit in Dubai. Hosted by Invest Africa, the summit brought together more than 500 senior decision-makers from government, finance and industry, including representatives of sovereign wealth funds, commercial banks, private equity firms and multinational companies. As the UAE's flagship dialogue platform for investment in Africa, the summit aims to advance strategic collaboration between the two sides in key areas such as trade, infrastructure and innovation.
Held under the theme "Shared Markets, Shared Future", the summit took place against the backdrop of preparations for COP30, the deepening of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the reallocation of global capital towards the Global South. Practical discussions covered key topics including logistics and supply chain optimisation, the energy transition, infrastructure and digital transformation, and trade and investment. With "real deals, real action, real strategy" at its core, the summit explored emerging opportunities for UAE–Africa cooperation that support sustainable and inclusive growth in Africa.
During the summit, Mr. Eric Ma and Ms. Remoca Shi met H.E. Basílio Muhate, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Mozambique, and H.E. João Matlombe, Minister of Transport and Logistics. Against the backdrop of the historic opportunity presented by the implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, the two sides held in-depth discussions on potential cooperation in the green and low-carbon transition and clean energy development, focusing on how climate policy, frontier technology and innovative investment and financing mechanisms can help Mozambique build a resilient path to sustainable development.
