The 2023 Xuhui District "Converging Future" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition focused on strategic emerging industries such as the digital economy, life sciences and health, cultural and creative industries and modern finance, as well as emerging themes such as the metaverse, smart devices and green and low-carbon development. It had two tracks, "Innovation" and "Entrepreneurship".

WeCarbon competed in the Overseas Entrepreneurs group of the Entrepreneurship track, alongside 105 other projects. After the preliminary review, 33 projects, including WeCarbon, advanced to the semi-finals.

During the roadshow, WeCarbon's founder gave a full presentation of the company and its core technology products. WeCarbon is a signatory service provider of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI) and a carbon service provider recognised by national ministries. Its in-house "WeCarbon Cloud" carbon neutrality management platform addresses clients' two main pain points in sustainability and ESG, "disclosure compliance" and "value creation", by tackling the core issue of "carbon data trust". It aims to become the central brain for sustainability and ESG work in key industries, providing end-to-end management across four use cases: disclosure compliance and green certification, green finance, carbon and energy management, and carbon assets and trading. The platform offers a fully online, traceable calculation system covering all CCER/CDM/VCS methodologies, providing a one-stop answer to common problems across industries, such as non-standard carbon management, high carbon verification costs, difficulty realising carbon value and untrusted carbon data, and automating the whole process of sustainability disclosure compliance and value creation.
