On 22 May 2026, a research project launch meeting held by the SUFE–ChinaBond International Research Institute took place at the Shanghai Headquarters of China Central Depository & Clearing Co., Ltd. (CCDC). WeCarbon's China Partner Ms. Mia Zheng attended as a review expert and held in-depth discussions with experts and scholars from the Shanghai Financial Stability and Development Research Center, Bank of China, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE), Fudan University and CCDC, laying a solid foundation for the research projects.
The meeting covered four areas: offshore finance, digital finance, green finance, and the opening-up of the bond market. Experts and scholars from the Antai College of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the SUFE School of Finance and the Fudan University School of Economics presented the frameworks and research priorities of five research projects. In the expert review session, Ms. Zheng and the other experts assessed the projects' rigour and feasibility in depth from the perspectives of the policy environment, market demand and business innovation, and offered professional advice. All five projects were unanimously approved at the meeting, and their findings will support theoretical innovation and practice in these fields.
Going forward, WeCarbon will stay focused on green finance and ESG. Driven by technological innovation and grounded in market practice, it will support the reform and opening-up of China's financial markets, the internationalisation of the bond market and the upgrading of Shanghai as an international financial centre, bringing green momentum to a high-quality financial system.
